A banner showcasing children's artwork and messages of support for patients is now on display in the main corridor on Level 1 of the Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.
Earlier this year, patients and their siblings, former patients, school students and children of staff were invited to share their drawings and messages to celebrate the Sydney Children's Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre building reaching full height.
Almost 150 heart-warming entries were received, with Mateo (pictured) among those chosen to feature on a banner that was displayed at the ‘topping out’ event.
On sharing the above photo with the project team, Mateo's mum said he was really excited to see his artwork on display and is now drawing every day in the hope of becoming an artist.
Thank you for turning his time in hospital into such a positive experience with such great memories.
The banner’s new home was made possible with the support of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation, and has become a talking point for staff and visitors alike.
