On Saturday 6 May, Sydney Children's Hospital patients, their families and members of the Randwick community joined Redevelopment Team and project partner representatives at a special event to mark the arrival of a second tower crane on site. Sydney Children's Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre project builder John Holland Group hosted a barbeque and fun day for patients and families within the hospital community to enjoy while watching the crane being erected. Superheroes, games, face painting and balloon art made it a memorable day for children and big kids alike!
The two tower cranes will support ongoing construction of the SCH1/MCCCC building. The latest tower crane will reach a final height of 85 metres, and both will be a feature of the Randwick skyline until early 2024, with the hospital expected to be completed in 2025. Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, is calling on kids and young people to help name the two new cranes with a Name the Cranes competition. Entries close 31 May.
